How This Stock Tracker Works

This page tracks in-stock, low-stock, out-of-stock, and group-buy status for 50+ boards across 12 vendors β€” Keychron, KBDfans, CannonKeys, NovelKeys, Mode Designs, Glorious, ZSA, Drop, and others. Every row carries a "last verified" date because we check listings manually, not through a live automated feed. If a date looks old, that's the tracker being honest about its own freshness rather than hiding it.

Why We Don't Claim Real-Time Data

A small, independently-run site like this one can't realistically promise second-by-second accuracy, and pretending otherwise would just mislead people trying to time a purchase around a restock. Instead, each board is checked directly against its vendor's own product page and dated when we look β€” see our full methodology page for exactly what "checked" means for stock, price, and group-buy status specifically.

What the Status Colors Mean

In Stock means the vendor's page showed it purchasable as of the last-verified date. Low Stock means the vendor flagged limited remaining units (their language, not ours β€” we don't estimate a number). Out of Stock means the vendor's own page confirmed it. Group Buy means the board is in an active pre-order window rather than available for immediate purchase β€” check the Group Buys page for close dates and production timelines on those specifically.

Using Restock Alerts

The Set Alert button lets you flag a specific board so you're not manually re-checking a vendor page yourself. It won't catch a restock the second it happens β€” see the honesty note above β€” but it saves you the trouble of checking a page you'd otherwise forget about.

How a Board Gets Added to This List

We add boards that come up repeatedly across the vendors we already track β€” Keychron, KBDfans, CannonKeys, NovelKeys, Mode Designs, Glorious, ZSA, Drop, and the rest of the 12-vendor list above β€” rather than trying to cover every case designer in the hobby from day one. A board earns a row here once it has a stable product page on a tracked vendor's site with a listed price, since price and stock status are the two data points this tracker exists to surface. Group buys and Interest Checks are handled slightly differently: those get a status of GB Active, GB Closed, or IC rather than a stock count, because "in stock" doesn't really apply to a pre-order.

Reading the "sub" Line Under Each Board

Several rows carry a short note under the board name β€” things like "backordered," "superseded by a newer revision," or "storefront closed, check other retailers." These notes exist because a flat In Stock / Out of Stock badge sometimes hides useful context: a board marked Out of Stock because the vendor discontinued it entirely is a very different situation from one that's simply backordered and expected to restock. Read that sub-line before assuming a status label tells the whole story, especially for older boards that may have been quietly superseded by a newer revision (Think6.5 V2 vs. V3, KBD8X MKII vs. a newer generation) without a formal announcement. When a listing can't be reached at all during a check β€” a vendor page timing out, a group buy's close date passing without an update β€” we mark it for manual follow-up rather than guessing at a status, the same honesty standard documented in full on our methodology page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often is stock data updated?
Manually, on a rotating basis rather than continuously β€” we're moving toward a structured weekly cycle through the tracked catalog. Each row's "last verified" date tells you exactly how current that specific entry is.
Why does a board show one status here but something different on the vendor's site?
Vendor inventory can change between our last check and when you're looking. Always confirm on the vendor's own page before ordering β€” this tracker is a starting point for narrowing down options, not a live cart.
Do you track every mechanical keyboard vendor?
No β€” we cover 12 vendors that come up most often in the hobby (Keychron, KBDfans, CannonKeys, NovelKeys, Mode Designs, Glorious, ZSA, Drop, and a few others). If a board or vendor you're looking for isn't listed, it may not be covered yet rather than confirmed unavailable.
